BREAKING: Obama Set to Declare Totalitarianism, Leading Right Wing Morons Agree

Friday, February 20, 2009

By Thers

Leading right-wing morons agree: Barack Obama's presidency is indistinguishable from a totalitarian dictatorship. So perfidious is this man that he even now plots to impose sweeping imaginary laws in order to silence conservatives from speaking out against the other sweeping imaginary laws he plots to impose. Top Political Scientists call this the "tyranny of the subjunctive," and all citizens ought to fear it, as it were.

But the atrocities the Obama regime has already perpetrated are already atrocious. Liberal strongholds such as Oklahoma City have made it illegal to criticize the president, and those who protest have been subject to cruel repercussions such as having their bumper stickers returned to them by law enforcement officials. Such an attitude towards lawful protest is an alarming new development and entirely unprecedented in its alarming unprecedentedness for which, alarmingly, there is no precedent. How alarming!

And it gets alarminger.

The "Porkulus" plan utterly proves that Obama is a total fascist. Opinions differ as to whether or not he will enslave us all slowly, much like we seduce lobsters, or quickly, by forcing brave GOP governors to accept federal money to address the crushing unemployment in their states by threatening them with certain nuclear annihilation (or its precise equivalent -- going to the legislature instead of the governor, a ploy straight out of the Pol Pot playbook, the notorious "Polpotploybook").

But one thing is sure -- in this moment of national crisis, when Obama's Brownshirt bullyboys rule the streets, we must contemplate Revolution. A new "Boston Tea Party," perhaps, only this time instead of Indians the rebels will pretend to be successful businessmen. Because, after all, the Obama Porkulus Bill is exactly the same thing as child rape. And always remember:
There are pig farmers in the White House and Congress that would see you led in captivity so that they may dine on your fatted flesh.
Holy shit! Only one sane response remains to us: "There’s much real work to be done - including the use of brutal force and violence." What other choice do we have, now that Obama is telling us "we have a duty to die"? All this while ignoring our imminent defeat at the hands of the terrorists....(Click for remainder).

Fashion sector seeks aid as crisis bites

Where's the uproar over these "Buy Italian" provisions? Where's the EUs threat to take their case to the WTO? Hypocrites.

By Marie-Louise Gumuchian

MILAN (Reuters) – Italy's fashion industry is calling for government help as the global crisis cuts into demand for designer clothes and accessories and the sector's first credit crunch casualty goes into special administration.

Luxury brands have not been spared by the global economic turmoil and the sector has been hit by growing evidence of restrained spending even among the super-rich.

In a senate hearing this week, the head of Sistema Moda Italia, which represents the textile and clothing industry, warned of risks for the sector and called for government help.

"The Italian clothing and textile sector risks falling to pieces under the weight of the international economic crisis," Michele Tronconi, was quoted by Italian media as saying.

"We don't want someone to pedal for us. We know how to ride a bicycle well but at this time a push is necessary."

The Italian government this month approved a total stimulus package of more than 2 billion euros ($2.52 billion) aimed at the auto sector and household goods, in the latest attempt by the debt-laden government to boost the economy amid the financial crisis....(Click for remainder).

Homophobic Bastard, Fred Phelps, Joyously Banned From UK

I'm so happy to see that some people aren't afraid to stand up to this total fucking nutcase. He's such a bastard and an ignorant rube.

A father and daughter from a US church which preaches hatred of homosexuals have been banned from entering the UK.

By BBC News

Fred Phelps and his daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper from the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) had urged protests against a play being put on in Hampshire.

Queen Mary's College in Basingstoke is staging The Laramie Project, a play about a man killed for being gay.

Mrs Phelps-Roper told BBC News Online the decision would "bring great wrath upon your heads".

She warned other members of the church, who are not as well known to the authorities, will be trying to get into the UK to protest.

"There are members of WBC that are not named Phelps," she added.

"So they [the authorities] might have their work cut out for them.

"Unless they intend to begin checking the bare backsides of every person coming into that country to find that tattoo that says 'Property of WBC' - they will have no way of identifying who is from WBC."

She called the British government "filthy" for thinking they have the power "to keep the word of God from coming into her borders"....(Click for remainder).

Jon Stewart's Smackdown of Republicant John Sununu

Stewart asks Sununu if Judd Gregg just "learned that he was a conservative?" "Wouldn't he have known that two weeks ago?"

Stewart then smacksdown the GOP over the Bush tax cuts, and their devastation of for the federal budget.
Stewart: I'm not an economist, but let's say I start out with a surplus and I say lets have a tax cut to stimulate the economy, lets make it 1.2 trillion dollars and that surplus turns into a deficit. Why would I at that point go, hey you know what could fix that? A tax cut.

Newsmax's Stimulus Falsehoods

By Terry Krepel
The Huffington Post

A recent Media Matters article detailed how conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh's attacks on President Barack Obama echoed the attacks and smears Limbaugh issued against President Clinton and his administration during the 1990s.

The same phenomenon is happening at Newsmax: Its misleading and false claims about Obama and his administration echo its anti-Clinton work during the 1990s.

Newsmax began attacking Obama long before his presidential inauguration, bashing the stimulus plan he has promoted to jump-start the languishing economy. Newsmax has since moved to repeating misleading claims and telling outright falsehoods about Obama and the stimulus, with reporter David A. Patten leading the way.

A Jan. 23 article by Patten described the so-called "Dirty Dozen" things President Obama plans to do. But Patten doesn't come clean by telling the truth about them.

For instance, Patten claimed that Obama will "hike taxes," about which he adds: "Obama promised to cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans -- quite a feat, considering that only about 60 percent of Americans earn enough to pay taxes in the first place." In fact, Obama has said that his tax credits will go to working Americans, not all Americans; further, Patten apparently forgot that "working Americans" also pay FICA taxes for Social Security and Medicare, as well as federal excise taxes on gasoline....(Click for remainder).

Obama Lets Progressives In The Gate... Now What?

By Sam Stein
The Huffington Post

News that a cadre of progressive groups and leaders schmoozed with the president represents a symbolic end-note of sorts to eight years that saw the same constituency navigating the political wilderness.

On Wednesday night, officials with several major labor unions, environmental organizations, human and woman's rights groups, and liberal stalwarts attended a private White House reception with the president, his wife, and select members of his staff.

Notably, the guests discussed ways in which the progressive infrastructure could help the administration amplify its message. But it was the meeting itself -- and its specific attendees -- that seemed most poignant.

For the past eight years, and in some cases beyond that, groups like the Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood, and unions at large have been banging against the White House gates, focused as much on defeating the president's agenda as championing their own priorities. Now inside the doors of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue the dynamics are different and better... but, perhaps, no less daunting.

"I think progressive groups will be in a position of needing to step out front and create the political environment for a fundamentally progressive president to do what he really wants to do," explained Adam Green, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and former Director of Strategic Campaigns for "The White House won't always find this pushing to be politically convenient in the short term, but that's the way big, long-term change happens, and everyone gets that."

Added a guest at last night's affair: "I think a lot of the groups there were used to rallying outside the White House gates. Those 100 feet [between the gate and door] make a big difference. It was a very gracious move on their part and it signals an openness to have the conversation with the progressive movement. But I don't think anyone thought to themselves: 'we will agree on all things all the time'"...(Click for remainder).

GOP Fighting For Money From Stimulus They Opposed

By Ryan Grim
The Huffington Post

House Republicans, as a group, may take great pride in the goose egg they offered President Obama's stimulus package. But now the unanimous opposition is struggling to bring that money home.

Republicans will be working hard to make sure the money they opposed ends up benefiting their home districts, highlighting the political tightrope they walk in this economic crisis. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is watching House Republicans -- and reading local media -- closely and is only too happy to highlight any happy talk about a stimulus Republicans voted against.

Back in his home district, Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) found some nice things to say about the plan.

"Within the stimulus package there is some Pell Grant money, which is a good thing. It helps students be able to pay for their education and that's kind of a long term stimulus effect there. I mean obviously that's not gonna provide a job in the next 120, 180 days, but the ability of someone to get an education is an economic development tool," Luetkemeyer said at a local college. He was there, in another inside-outside Washington twist, to celebrate an earmark for a college building.

He lamented that there would be far fewer such earmarks in the future. "If they go back to the rules, it will make it very difficult to get earmarks through the next two years because number one we don't have any more money, we just blew it all on this stimulus package. Although, we're gonna have to print some more in order to be able to bail out the financial institutes and the automobile manufacturers," said Luetkemeyer.

Ken Spain, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said that the quotes aren't hypocritical, but rather demonstrate that Republicans did support a stimulus in general, just not the one Democrats presented to them....(Click for remainder).
